Thursday Tips - How to Apply Make up

Hello There!

One of our Readers wanted to know how to apply make up.  So here are Tips on how to apply Make up :)

Here goes:

Drink lots of water

Drinking lots of water will allow your body to get rid of toxins in your body.  And when those toxins go your face also looks hydrated.  No point putting make up on a face that is not hydrated.  Its like trying to redo your house by buying new furniture without cleaning the carpet or the windows.  The new furniture wont take away the dirty carpet or dirty feel.  The house will look really good when its cleaned before we bring in the new furniture.

Exercise

Exercising gives your skin a natural glow.  Days when I am consistent with my exercising, I hardly apply make up because the glow is just more lovely *giggle.  When my face has the exercise glow I will only apply sunscreen, eyeliner and lip gloss or lipstick.  So do exercise its cheap make up!

Wash your face day and night

DO NOT sleep with make up on. Its not good for your skin.

Apply Sun screen

Sunscreen will protect your skin from the Sun.  When I don't apply sunscreen for a day, the next day when I try and apply make up my skin does not allow the make up to sink in.  So sunscreen will protect you from the sun and also make it easier for you to apply make up the next day.

Apply Foundation

Research the right foundation that is best suited for your skin.  Go to the Beauty Parlor and ask them to try some different foundation, they may even give you tips on how to apply make up for your complexion and skin type.

Eye Liner

Mascara

Blush

Eye Shadow

Lipstick

A Good Mirror and Excellent Lighting

Just remember to get a mirror and place it where there is a lot of lighting so you can really see your face.  I say this because eyeliner is a delicate operation and when starting out you may not be accurate when applying.  At least when you have a mirror and good lighting you can make sure you don't smudge in important areas.

And there you have your made up face :)

  1. Good tips. I like the one about lighting because if you put foundation in poor lighting when you get outside you may look like a ghost. I even prefer natural light if I am going out during the day but it's not always possible. I didn't know about sunscreen. good tip. Thank you.
